Mass Premier Swish 44
Bay State Jaguars 43

Westfield State College - In a battle between two of New England’s elite teams, the Mass Premier Swish kicked off its spring season with an exciting one-point victory over Bay State Jaguars, 44-43. It was the first game of the season for both teams and the rust was evident.

The teams went into halftime knotted up at 22 and exchanged leads the rest of the way. The Swish held a four-point lead late in the waning seconds of the game before Jags newcomer Lexi Greffen (Portsmouth, RI) buried a 3-pointer to cut the lead to one-point before time expired.

Anna Shaughnessy (North Attleboro) led MPC Swish with a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds. Nicole Gallagher (Foxboro) filled up the box score with 11 points, 11 rebounds, three steals and two assists in her first game back with the Swish after playing the previous two seasons up an age level with MT Elite. Kiera Fernandes (Franklin) had a very productive game as she added nine points, seven rebounds and two steals.
