Westborough 8th Boys Dominates MLK Classic



Thanks to its depth and firepower, Westborough boys sprinted to the MLK Classic title in the 8th grade boys division. The boys defeated all competitors by double digits.

In the first game of the day, Westborough beat Westwood, 67-32. Jack Lentine led all scorers with 17 points in the win.

In the semi-final game, Westborough squared off with crosstown rival Hopkinton. Westborough took a four point lead into halftime, 22-18. In the second frame, Westborough raced out to a 20 point victory, 58-38. Domenic Casparriello led the way with 19 points and Mike Doherty added 16 in the victory.


Westborough advanced to face Belmont in the championship. Westborough continued its scoring hot streak and beat Belmont by the score of 92-69. Jake Hughes led all scorers with 23 points. Casparriello and Mike Doherty added 22 points. Matt Doherty chipped in 14 points for the victors.
