The Westwood Wolverines got contributions from the entire
roster en route to the MLK Classic title in the girls division.
Westwood had its hands full in its first game against a
gritty King Philip squad. After a tight first half, Westwood was able to pull
away in the second half to secure a 45-21 victory.
In the championship, Westwood used great team defense and
unselfish play to beat Sharon, 58-26.
Westwood’s Bella Hamdan and Kenzie Connaughton combined for
58 points on the day for the champs.
“I was really proud of how they fought through some early
adversity and then dominated both games,” said coach Allen Hamdan.
A coach’s dream: every player on the roster had at least one
basket, steal, rebound and assist on the day.
